Une bonne administration de colostrum pour un bon transfert d’immunité chez le veau : évidemment ! Encore faut-il que celui-ci soit de bonne qualité.
→ The quality of colostrum is a factor affecting successful calf breeding and more largely herd immunity. Cloistral evaluation is based on good knowledge and a control of the quality of the colostrum’s.
A study conducted on two farms in Normandy equipped with colostrum pasteurizers did not reveal any link between pasteurization and the quality of immunity transfer in the calf. The study also highlighted the technical and practical interest of the refractometer, compared to the densimeter and colostrum balls, for the evaluation of the cloistral quality.
